Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is a scheme launched by the government of India with an aim to provide financial and monetary benefits to each and every family/individual of the country. The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) Account is a Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA) with no minimum balance. In this account, the account holder is given a RuPay debit card and this covers accidental life insurance of Rs. 2 lacs of the head of the family. This account comes with an overdraft facility up to Rs. 10,000 only for one member per family.

Any Indian citizen who does not have any bank account and if his/her age is more than 10 years then he/she is eligible to open the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Account.

Documents required to open the account under Jan Dhan Yojana
To open a Jan Dhan Yojana account, you have to submit any one of the following identity proof along with the filled account opening form. Your document is used for bank KYC (Know Your Customer)

In this form you have to fill your basic information such as name, address, Aadhaar number, PAN, what is your business, how much is your annual income, how many members are there in your family, if someone already has a bank account, then their details will have to be filled. After filling this form you have to submit it to the bank in which you want to open the account along with the required documents as mentioned above, after which your Jan Dhan account will be opened in few days.
